Pick a soundbar and see the lowest current prices on eBay, where last year's flagship lands every time someone upgrades their television. Prices are pulled live, so what you see is what sellers are asking this minute.

Browse the full range of used soundbars on eBay → Prices move fast. See the biggest price drops across every category this week →eARC is the specification that dates these. Plain ARC carries compressed audio and eARC carries the full stream, which is the difference between Dolby Atmos as advertised and Atmos as an approximation. A bar from before about 2020 will usually be ARC only, and no firmware update fixes it because the socket itself is different. Check the port markings in the listing photos rather than the description.
The subwoofer is half the system and it is wireless, which is a warning not a feature. Bar and sub are paired at the factory and re-pairing is a menu dance that occasionally does not work, particularly on an older Samsung. Buy the pair together, and treat a bar sold alone as roughly half a product no matter how the listing is worded.
Missing remotes are the commonest fault and the most annoying. Many of these have three buttons and nothing else, so without the remote you cannot change input, adjust the sub level or reach the settings. Some makers let a phone app do it and some do not. If the listing does not show the remote, assume it is gone and price a replacement before bidding.
Rear speakers are usually a separate purchase and rarely interchangeable. The systems that advertise 7.1.4 or 9.1.4 get there with a wireless rear kit, and that kit is model-specific: an LG rear will not talk to a Samsung bar, and often will not talk to a different year of LG. If surround is why you are buying, buy the complete system rather than planning to add to it later.
Up-firing drivers need a ceiling, and a flat one. The .2 and .4 in those channel counts are speakers pointing at your ceiling to bounce sound back down. Sloped, beamed or very high ceilings scatter it and you have paid for drivers you cannot use. In that room a good 3.1 bar with a real centre channel will do more for dialogue than a cheap Atmos bar will.
Match the bar to the television, not to the room. A bar much wider than the screen looks wrong and a much narrower one sounds detached from the picture. Measure the stand clearance too, because plenty of bars block the bottom of the screen or the TV's own remote sensor, which is a tedious thing to discover after delivery.
Live eBay listings. Pick a model and it fetches the current lowest-priced listings in real time, with the listing shown beside each price, so nothing here is an estimate.
Usually but not always, and it matters more than anything else on the page. Most of these ship as a bar plus a wireless sub, and a bar on its own is roughly half the system. Check the photos rather than the title, because sellers list a bar-only as the full model name.
It matters if you want Atmos properly. ARC carries a compressed stream and eARC carries the full one. Bars from before about 2020 are generally ARC only and no update changes that, so look for the port marking in the photos.
Assume it is, unless you can see it. A lot of these have almost no buttons on the bar, so without the remote you cannot switch input or set the sub level. Some brands offer a phone app that covers it and some do not, and a replacement remote runs $30 to $60 when one is available.
Only within the same system, and often only the same generation. The wireless rear kits are model-specific and do not cross brands or, frequently, model years. If you want surround, buy the complete system rather than planning to extend it.
Only if your ceiling is flat and not too high. The up-firing drivers work by bouncing sound off it, and a sloped or beamed ceiling scatters that. In a room like that, a good 3.1 bar with a proper centre channel does more for dialogue than a cheap Atmos one.
That the sub is included and pairs, that the remote is there, that the HDMI port is eARC if you care about Atmos, and that the drivers do not buzz at volume. Ask for a short video with sound rather than a photo, because a blown driver is inaudible in a still picture.
A daily snapshot of the lowest genuine eBay price for every model we track, and how good that price is right now versus its usual level, updated automatically. Prices last refreshed 30 August 2026 . Under each model is the actual listing that price came from, so you can see whether it is the thing you want or a bundle, a variant, or an accessory that happens to share the name.
