Pick a gimbal and see the lowest current prices on eBay, where the previous generation lands every time creators upgrade and does most of what the new one does. Prices are pulled live, so what you see is what sellers are asking this minute.

Browse the full range of used camera gimbals on eBay → Prices move fast. See the biggest price drops across every category this week →Payload is the specification that decides everything. Work out the weight of your camera with the heaviest lens you actually use, plus anything that lives on top of it, and buy a gimbal rated comfortably above that. Running near the limit is where the problems start: the motors work harder, battery life collapses, and the stabilisation gets soft exactly when you need it. Buying one size up is cheaper than buying twice.
Balance is a skill, and a badly balanced gimbal looks broken. Most complaints about used gimbals are balance problems rather than faults. The motors should hold position with the power off in every axis before you ever switch it on. If a seller says it "does not hold", that may be a five minute adjustment or a dead motor, and the only way to tell is to see it running.
Listen to the motors, do not just look at them. Worn bearings show up as a faint grinding or a wobble under load, and they are the one failure on these that is not worth repairing. Ask for a video with the gimbal balanced and moving through pan and tilt, and treat a seller who will only send stills as an untested machine.
The plates are the part that goes missing. Quick-release plates are model-specific, Manfrotto and Arca patterns are not interchangeable across every model, and a pair costs real money. The same goes for the extended grip that doubles as a tripod, which is what makes the thing usable on a table. A listing with the case, plates and grip is worth meaningfully more than a bare head.
Batteries date these faster than the motors do. The older Ronin-S and Crane models take proprietary cells that are getting scarce, while the newer RS bodies charge over USB-C. If you are buying at the older end, check that a replacement battery is still available before you bid, since an unpowered gimbal is a paperweight.
The previous generation is the value buy. An RS 2 or an RSC 2 does what an RS 4 does for a fraction of the price, and the differences are convenience rather than capability: faster balancing, a brighter screen, a slightly better app. If you are stabilising a mirrorless body rather than building a rig, the older models are where the money on this page goes furthest.
Live eBay listings. Pick a model and it fetches the current lowest-priced listings in real time, with the listing shown beside each price, so nothing here is an estimate.
Weigh your camera with the heaviest lens you use, then buy a gimbal rated comfortably above it. Running close to the limit drains the battery, works the motors and softens the stabilisation. One size up costs less than buying twice.
Less than it looks, with one check. The motors either hold and run smoothly or they do not, and worn bearings give themselves away as a grinding or a wobble under load. Ask for a video of it balanced and moving, and treat stills only as untested.
Usually not. Most balance complaints are setup rather than failure, and a gimbal should hold position with the power OFF in every axis once it is adjusted properly. It can also be a dead motor, and the only way to tell them apart is to see it running.
The quick-release plates, the extended grip that doubles as a tripod, the charger and the case. The plates are model-specific and the most commonly missing part, and replacing a pair costs more than you would expect, so a complete kit is worth paying for.
Yes, more than the motors do. The older Ronin-S and Crane bodies take proprietary cells that are getting hard to find, while the newer RS models charge over USB-C. Check a replacement is still available before bidding on anything from the older end.
Both make good hardware and the choice is usually the app and the accessories rather than the stabilisation. DJI has the larger used supply and the better resale, so it is easier to buy and easier to move on. Zhiyun tends to be cheaper for the same payload if you are buying to keep.
A daily snapshot of the lowest genuine eBay price for every model we track, and how good that price is right now versus its usual level, updated automatically. Prices last refreshed 12 October 2026. Tap a price to see that model's cheapest listings on eBay, or tap a model name for the full live list here.
These are second hand prices, listed by sellers as used or pre-owned, taken from live eBay US listings in US dollars. In collectible categories a sealed or unworn item is sometimes the cheapest genuine listing, and it is included. The same number works both ways: it is what a buyer pays today and the resale value a seller can realistically ask. Every model also carries a price history, the daily record kept since tracking began, which is the part to read before you buy or resell. On a day when a model has no listing that passes these filters, its row keeps the last price we recorded rather than inventing one, and drops off this table if that goes on for more than a few days.
Under each model is the actual listing that price came from, so you can see whether it is the thing you want or a bundle, a variant, or an accessory that happens to share the name.
Over the period we have tracked, this category is down 2.0%, while the used market as a whole is down 0.3%. See the Used Price Index, which is built from these prices and published as a free CSV.
