Cheapest used 3D printers on eBay, live right now.

Pick a model and see the lowest current prices on eBay. Used 3D printers are one of the better second-hand buys, but not for the reason people assume: the machines rarely wear out, they get resold because the owner stopped using it. That is why so many listings say "printed twice". The risk is not age, it is whether the seller looked after the parts that do wear, and whether the model still has support behind it.

What to check on a used 3D printer. Ask for a photo of something it printed recently, which tells you more than any description. The nozzle and build plate are consumables, so ask whether they have ever been replaced rather than treating wear as a fault. On a Bambu, ask the seller to unbind it from their account before you pay.

Best value by cost per litre of build volume

The FDM printers on this page ranked by what a litre of build volume costs, using today's cheapest live listing. Build volume is the one spec on a secondhand printer that cannot have degraded: a machine from 2018 has exactly the bed it left the factory with, unlike a battery or a belt. Lower is more printer for the money, and the spread is wide enough to be worth knowing before you buy. Read it as a size-per-dollar measure and nothing more. The cheapest per litre here is a very large, slow, open-frame machine, and for most people a small enclosed printer that actually gets used is the better buy. The three resin printers on this page are not ranked, because resin machines are small on purpose and resolve detail an FDM printer cannot, so a per-litre column would judge them at something they are not competing at. How to buy a used 3D printer safely

Ask for a picture of something it printed last week. One photo of a recent print tells you more than the entire listing description. Layer lines, stringing and a clean first layer are all visible in a photo, and a seller who cannot produce one either has not run the machine recently or knows it is not printing well. This is the single best question you can ask.

The parts that wear are cheap, so treat them as a discount, not a dealbreaker. Nozzles, build plates, PTFE tube and belts are consumables and cost very little to replace. What matters is whether the seller ever replaced them. A printer with a thousand hours and a fresh nozzle is a better buy than one with two hundred hours on the original parts and a chewed-up plate.

Check the model still has a community behind it. These machines are kept alive by spare parts, profiles and firmware from other owners. Popular models like the Ender 3, Prusa MK3S and the Bambu range have endless parts and help available. An obscure printer from a brand that has moved on can be genuinely difficult to fix, however cheap it looks.

On a Bambu, get it unbound before you pay. Bambu printers tie to the previous owner's account, and it is much easier for them to release it than for you to sort out afterwards. Ask them to do it while the listing is still live. For resin printers, factor in that you also need ventilation, gloves, and somewhere you do not mind getting messy.

Common questions

Where do these prices come from?

Live eBay listings, refreshed daily. Pick a model and it fetches the cheapest genuine printer, filtering out the enormous accessory market around these machines: nozzles, PEI plates, hotends, spare fans, control boards and multi-material units, any of which can cost more than a cheap printer and would otherwise show up as one.

Is a used 3D printer a good idea?

Usually yes, and better value than most used tech. The frame, motors and rails barely wear, and the parts that do wear are cheap and designed to be replaced. Most second-hand printers are sold by people who bought one, printed a few things and lost interest, so a lot of them have very few hours on them.

What should I check before buying?

Ask for a photo of a recent print, which tells you more than any description. Ask how many hours it has done and whether the nozzle and build plate have been replaced, since both are consumable. Check whether it has been modified, because heavy mods can mean heavy use. On a Bambu, ask the seller to unbind it from their account first, or you will have to sort that out yourself.

Which used 3D printer is the best value?

For a first printer, a used Ender 3 or Elegoo Neptune at well under a hundred and fifty dollars is hard to argue with, as long as you accept you will be tinkering. If you want to print rather than tinker, a used Bambu P1S or Creality K1 is the jump worth paying for: enclosed, fast, and largely self-calibrating. Resin printers like the Photon Mono are cheap second-hand but need ventilation and a lot more cleaning up.

Cheapest by model, at a glance

A daily snapshot of the lowest genuine eBay price for every model we track, and how good that price is right now versus its usual level, updated automatically. Prices last refreshed 7 August 2026 . Tap a price to see that model's cheapest listings on eBay, or tap a model name for the full live list here.

Under each model is the actual listing that price came from, so you can see whether it is the thing you want or a bundle, a variant, or an accessory that happens to share the name.

"Off retail" compares today's used price with what the model cost new. For models still on sale that is the current price; for discontinued ones it is the launch price, so it shows how far the model has depreciated rather than a discount you could get on a new one.
