The good news is they are user-replaceable, so a used Dyson with a tired battery is fine if the price reflects a replacement (a genuine battery is the main ongoing cost). Ask how long it runs on a full charge on the standard setting.
Check the parts that clog and wear. Look at the brush bar for tangled hair and worn bristles, check the bin and filters are present and clean (filters are cheap to replace), and make sure all the attachments the listing shows are actually included, since Dyson tools are pricey separately.
